Even the best decision-makers are able to visualize only a limited number of interactions. Data, organized and analyzed, can reveal interactions and scenarios that would otherwise remain hidden. By using data-driven models and simulations, students and faculty at the "3d" laboratory provide expertise that will help explore complex decision environments, and gain a greater understanding of the interplay between data and decisions. Of particular interest are decision models in which data characteristics such as latency, privacy, security, time-sensitivity and uncertainty are significant.
